1994, the year it all began

We're excited to introduce you to our birthday coffee blend. We're celebrating our 25th anniversary this year and have named it 1994 in honor of the year we opened our doors at 620 Congress St. It's hard to believe 25 years have gone by, and today you'll find us in restaurants and cafes around the state, as well in our Portland and Freeport locations -- and even as far away as Japan. Our focus on quality, affordable coffee has led us on a 25 year journey around the world and back, bringing coffee beans to Portland to roast to order for you. This blend features four incredible African beans, 60% natural and 40% washed, from Ethiopia, Kenya, Burundi and Tanzania: Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Kochere Natural Kenya Kihuri Estate AA Burundi Kayanza Kabingo Washing Station Natural Tanzania Songwe Region Shilanga Amcos Co-Op It is a light roast, with notes of passion fruit and strawberry and is big bodied, with a wine-like acidity. You'll find it in one of our coffeehouses or online, and it's $18.50 a pound.
