Subscription FAQs
The Curated Cup is Coffee By Design’s monthly coffee subscription service. When you sign up, we automatically send you a box each month with two bags of specialty coffee that have been curated by our Q Grader. You can choose to receive one or two boxes per month.
A Q Grader is a certified judge of coffee quality, who has been trained by the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). Q Graders have the knowledge to assess, score, and bring to light the stories hidden within each bean. The Q Grader certification process involves intense training sessions spread over several days, diving into the depths of sensory skills, green grading, roast identification, cupping, and so much more. CQI’s Q Grader certifications are globally recognized.
If you selected the “once a month” subscription option, your first box will ship on the second Thursday of the current or upcoming month, whichever comes first.
If you selected the “twice a month” subscription option, your first box will ship on the second or fourth Thursday of the month, whichever comes first.
If you selected “Once a month,” your box will ship on the second Thursday of each month. If you selected “Twice a month,” one box will ship on the second Thursday of the month, and the final box will ship on the fourth Thursday of the month.
You will receive two bags of coffee with each delivery, and each coffee will have an information card that includes flavor notes, roast level, and the history of the farm where your coffee was grown. Sometimes we might also throw in a few Coffee By Design goodies for fun!
