CBD HQ

Our newest location, in Portland's East Bayside neighborhood, opened in March 2014 and is about to turn ten years old. (Who knows where the time goes!)

In addition to the spacious and airy coffeehouse out front, Diamond Street is also CBD HQ: home to our 21,000 sq. ft. coffee roastery, our cupping room (where every batch of coffee is rigorously tasted and evaluated), and our offices.

The facility, built in partnership with Efficiency Maine and using Maine-based contractors and craftsmen, uses reclaimed cabinetry, efficient lighting fixtures, and zero-VOC ("volatile organic compounds," such as formaldehyde, that are often found in commercial building products) paint and carpeting. The bar and the furniture are made up of 100-plus-year-old salvaged wood from Maine mills and barns. As at all of our coffeehouses, visual art created by Maine artists is displayed on the walls.
